The best laid plans…
There’s some saying about plans rarely suviving the first contact or something like that. I forget the exact quote. Anyway, I was excited about my current project wrapping up because that usually would be a good indicator that I would be working from home for a while.
Unfortunately, that is not the case. I’m off to New York City this evening. Next week, I’ll be headed to West Virginia. And so it goes. This is not a complaint. This is my job. I am aware that it is my job. It’s not my favorite aspect of the job. I love travelling for short bursts, but to be on the road constantly(since June) is burn out for me. I certainly can’t complain too much, considering I have a brother who spends close to a year at a time away from his family. And you don’t come home from Iraq on the weekends like I do.
So, what I thought was going to be 3 weeks of catching back up on life at home has become trips to NY and WV. Throw in a Cub Scout camping trip weekend and a writer retreat weekend and you can get the picture. I am busy. Poor me. I am sure everyone else is sitting around wishing they had something to do.
What’s got you tied up these days?

Busy busy busy. That word count won’t create itself
I’ve had bouts of flu/pneumonia/ear infections/general cold crud/and let’s not forget two children the ages of puberty and the terrible twos. That’s enough in my book, but nooooooo. There’s always work, traveling, my own schooling, and of course writing that needs to be thrown in at some point. Best of travels to you, and I hope you get some family time soon!
